Saving the Reef
Why It Matters
The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef system in the world. It was built by billions of tiny living organisms. That means it’s a living home for the vast number of species residing in it’s 2,300-kilometer expanse. That includes turtles, jellyfish, whales, tiny fish, big fish and creepy fish abounds. Without this living structure our oceans would be a much emptier place.
What's The Problem?
Reef systems are in deep trouble. Thanks to warming oceans and other nasty culprits, the Great Barrier Reef is suffering from a disastrous amount of bleaching. Bleaching strips the liveliness from coral and leaves behind white husks. Scientists reported that around 800 kilometers of the reef was lost to bleaching in 2016.
How We're Helping
We prefer our oceans healthy, so we teamed up with our mates over at The Great Barrier Reef Foundation. They’re doing their best to help preserve the life of this natural wonder, but they need funding to make that happen. On every pair of sold, we donate a portion to The Great Barrier Reef Foundation. That means you can do your part in saving our reefs, and our oceans.
